CHANGSHA, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) — More than 10 people have been trapped after a coal mine was flooded in central China’s Hunan Province on Sunday, local authorities said.

The accident took place around 11:30 a.m. in a coal mine in the city of Leiyang, according to the Ministry of Emergency Management.

Officials said the province has mobilized over 60 professional rescuers and four water pumps into the rescue mission, while 84 firefighters have also rushed to the site.

The ministry said it has sent a team of officials and experts to Hunan to guide the rescue mission.
